What’s Happening!

The Board of Glenmoriston Shooting Ground hope that you are all keeping safe and well.

It is now almost 2 months since the club closed due to the Government COVID-19 restrictions and the Board would like to update you on our way forward towards the time when shooting can commence again.

Thank you to those who have renewed their membership subscriptions for this year.  Despite there being no shooting on the ground, there are still significant running costs to bear, including monthly £310 insurance payments.  We would encourage you to support the club by renewing your annual membership at the £5 discounted rate offered in March.  If possible please pay by bank transfer but if you wish to send a cheque, please send it and your application form direct to Shona as she is unable to access mail delivered to the club.  The form and details are available on the ‘Entry Fees and Membership’ page of our website.

A fundraising social quiz night is planned for early June so there’s plenty of time to swat up on your general and shooting knowledge!  Further details will be available shortly.

Shooting has re-started in some countries across the world and we are watching closely to see the measures that are being taken to ensure the good health of the shooters and staff.  We are considering various scenarios including limiting entry numbers, clubhouse access for the use of toilet facilities only, catering provided on a takeaway basis etc.  We intend to obtain a card reader so that entry fees etc can be made by contactless payment and phone.

Please see the advice issued by the CPSA for what may be expected:

We still hope that some of our shoot calendar can go ahead later in the summer.

In the meantime, stay safe!

W J Lamont, Chairman
