Winter Series 2019/20

In dry calm conditions 27 competitors took part in our final 100 DTL of the year. High gun on 100/298 was Richard Greenlaw. Class winners were: AA Kenny Jones 99/292; A Alan Wilson 100/297; B Tommy Gunn 98/281; C Flett Marsham 92/265.

It’s our final 100 bird shoot of this season on Saturday. Entries will be from 10am until noon. There will be two DTL ranges used so an early start would be appreciated. Thank you.
There were fine conditions for the 47 guns taking part in today’s 100 DTL and SB competition for the Duncan MacDonell and Microtec Services Trophies respectively.
Richard Greenlaw 99/295 and Davy Alford 100/295 shot off for the Duncan MacDonell Trophy with Davy emerging the winner after scoring 25/73 and 23SB. Class winners were: AA Richard Greenlaw 99/295; A Don Mackay 99/294; B John Breen 96/281; C James MacLellan 98/277.
Winner of the 100 Single Barrel Microtec Services Trophy was Richard Greenlaw with 97.

This Saturday the Duncan McDonell Trophy is to be competed for over 100DTL. In addition, first barrel kills will count towards winning the Microtec Services Single Barrel Trophy. Entries are from 10am until noon but an early start would be appreciated.
It’s also the last chance to buy raffle tickets for the luxury 3-night self-catering weekend in Ballater kindly donated by Graham Stuart. Other prizes are a day’s pigeon shooting courtesy of Angus Sporting, a Glenmoriston Hotel meal voucher and a bottle of Tomatin malt whisky. The raffle will be drawn at the conclusion of the shoot.
This Wednesday 25th September will be the last mid-week practice until next spring. As usual, the ground will be open from 2:30pm until 6:30pm with tea, coffee and snacks available.
15 competitors enjoyed glorious conditions for today’s Glenmoriston Trap Challenge. After a keenly fought shoot-off, Colin Knape added 23 UT to his score of 84 to take the title. Other winners were: Class 2, Gordon Shankland 84; Class 3, (after a shoot-off) Sandy Dunbar 82, Class 4, Andy MacLean 74; Lucky Number, Andrew McDonald.

It’s the Glenmoriston Trap Challenge this Saturday, entries accepted from 10am until 11am. All information is available by clicking on the link below.
The ground will be open on Wednesday 18th September 2019 for DTL, OT, UT and Sporting practice from 2:30pm until 6:30pm. Tea, coffee and snacks are available.
On Saturday 21st September it’s the Glenmoriston Trap Challenge when competitors shoot one round of each of the following trap disciplines, ABT, DTL, OT, and UT. Note that entries are taken from 10am until 11am.
